Vedika holds a BSc (Human Physiology and Biology) from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Life Sciences and Natural Sciences: Senior and FET Phase) from UNISA. Her career started as a Laboratory Technician at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. She moved into teaching at Randfontein High School where she taught grades 10 to 12 for several years, also serving as HOD for Life Sciences and Physical Sciences. Since 2017 she has worked as a Senior Education Specialist for Life Sciences for Gauteng West (GDE). She has participated as a marker in Life Sciences for the Grade 12 National Senior Certificate Final Examinations. She has also served as the Analytical Moderator for Gauteng Life Sciences for the NSC Examination since 2018.
