AAA & Ladles of Love Come Together for Mandela Day 2023

Ladles of Love and AAA School of Advertising Collaborate to Set World Record on Mandela Day 2023.

ONE DAY, ONE GOAL, ONE LOVE – Join us in creating a better world for our children.

Cape Town and Johannesburg – AAA School of Advertising and Ladles of Love, a non-profit organisation fighting poverty and hunger in South Africa, are proud to announce their collaboration for Mandela Day 2023. This year’s initiative aims to set a world record by mobilising 6700 volunteers to give 67 minutes of their time to make items that will nourish, nurture, and grow children in need.

As part of this collaboration, Campaign Activation students from AAA School of Advertising will be working closely with Ladles of Love to create and implement an innovative event campaign strategy that raises awareness of the urgent need for Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres around South Africa, and encourages people to volunteer their time in support of the Mandela Day initiative.

“We are thrilled to partner with Ladles of Love for our Campaign Activations module,” said Elrie Visser, Team Lead for Campaign Activations at AAA School of Advertising Cape Town. “This collaboration gives our students the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge and gain practical experience in creating effective advertising campaigns. We believe this partnership will benefit our students and make a meaningful impact in the Cape Town and Johannesburg ECD community.”

Ladles of Love needs 6700 people to volunteer their 67 minutes to craft, make, collate, create, or plant items for little children in ECD and Day Care Centres in impoverished communities to achieve the world record. The event will take place in Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront Look Out and Oranjezicht City Farm Market, as well as Johannesburg’s AtEds, Old Edwardian Club, Houghton.

“Little children, especially those living in terrible conditions, deserve to dream and need to be supported to be the best they can be,” said Alison McCutcheon, Marketing Director at Ladles of Love. “We are delighted to be partnering with AAA School of Advertising for the Mandela Day initiative. We believe this collaboration will help us raise awareness about the Mandela Day initiative and mobilise more people to support our cause. The project has been a huge success, with AAA students who bring fresh, young, brilliant ideas and energy to our campaign.” 

Volunteering tickets are available from www.webtickets.co.za from 1 June to 18 July 2023. Ticket prices are R150 for adults and R100 for students and pensioners, with time slots available from 09:00 – 19:00.
