Ten years ago, Siya Mawisa was watching the internet figure itself out. He was watching closely, taking notes, spotting trends, understanding what made people stop scrolling and actually pay

attention. That instinct, honed long before ‘digital marketing’ became a career category on every job board, is what separates him from the crowd.

His career has rarely followed a straight line, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. Before entering the formal advertising world, Siya spent a decade as a part-time trend spotter, identifying cultural currents, consumer insights, and the kind of ambient signals that agencies pay good money to understand.

After completing a copywriting course at AAA School of Advertising, he moved through roles at Plum Factory, 8909 Digital, and Publicis Groupe Africa, developing a reputation for blending creative instinct with hard data

“What drives me is understanding digital consumer behaviour and

transforming insights into engaging campaigns that deliver measurable results.”

He’s now Social Media Manager at Sunbet, where his focus is on something he believes the iGaming space often gets wrong: authentic connection. Not just impressions and click-throughs, but the kind of storytelling that builds genuine community.
