AAA #AList Showcase
It started with a high school fine arts portfolio and a Loeries Creative Future Scholarship. Most people would call that a lucky break. Banzi Kasana calls it the beginning of the work.
It started with a high school fine arts portfolio and a Loeries Creative Future Scholarship. Most people would call that a lucky break. Banzi Kasana calls it the beginning of the work.
He arrived at AAA in 2015 with paintbrush instincts and left three years later with a BA in Creative Brand Communication, having traded canvas for concept and chosen to major in Art Direction. The transition wasn’t just technical; it was philosophical. Fine arts teaches you to see. Art direction teaches you to make other people see too.
His first industry role was at Ogilvy Cape Town, where he spent three years as a Junior Art Director working across KFC Africa, KFC SA, Black Label, and Castrol. These are brands with enormous visual identities and equally enormous expectations, a demanding environment for someone just starting out, and exactly the kind of pressure that accelerates growth.
From Ogilvy CPT to Duke Group and now Ogilvy JHB, Banzi owns every step: conceptualisation, design, production. It’s the kind of experience that builds a particular self-sufficiency, the ability to hold both the big idea and the execution detail in your head at the same time. Add a year on the Loeries Youth Committee and you have someone actively investing in the industry’s next generation of creative talent.
From fine arts to franchise brands. Banzi’s eye has always been the constant.
