The course is aimed to benefit brand managers and individuals in the marketing and communications industries. The course also caters for anyone with product or brand responsibility or a desire to learn more about managing brands at an organisational or personal level.

 

 

Programme profile:

This course is designed to demonstrate the role of brands and branding in today’s competitive marketplace. It deals with why brands are so important and what they represent to consumers and how they should be managed.

Brand management looks at strategic key points such as the design and implementation of marketing programmes and the various activities necessary to build, measure and manage brand equity. Throughout this module, your prescribed textbook together with the recommended readings and practical cases, will give you a comprehensive foundation and numerous insights into brand management. You will be introduced to the theoretical concepts and processes first and then have the opportunity to practically apply the knowledge gained in a practical real-world context.

2. Choosing brand elements to build brand equity and designing marketing programmes to build brand equity

3. Integrating marketing communications to build brand equity

4. Leveraging secondary brand knowledge to build brand equity

5. Developing a brand equity measurement and management system

6. Managing brands over time, geographic boundaries and market segments

 

Programme outcomes

On completion of this course you’ll have a solid understanding of all things brand management. There will be a number of assignments and tests along the way to ensure you have a firm understanding of the various themes covered. You will also write a final exam and earn a certificate of achievement.
