 Principles of Copywriting

This course is aimed at improving your understanding of the copywriting process. You will see how Big Ideas evolve, based on creative briefs, and you will learn how to translate those ideas into various media, including TV, radio, print and finally, alternative media.  It’s a hands-on course where you practice your copywriting skills with ongoing feedback from your lecturer.  You will also get the opportunity to direct and record a radio commercial for inclusion in your portfolio.

Adobe InDesign CC

The purpose of this workshop is to give people the ability to create, save and preflight an InDesign document.

 

Learn about the fundamentals of InDesign CS6, how to find your way around Adobe InDesign CS6, understand how to save and export, organise and search for documents. Throughout the workshop the emphasis is on practical, hands-on learning including a series of exercises designed to consolidate new skills and build confidence.

 

This is an ideal course for those doing the Principles of Art Direction module that will allow digital executions, later in that course.

Advanced Copywriting (Portfolio course)

The course is targeted at individuals who have already completed an introductory course in copywriting or are familiar with the theory of copywriting, the advertising industry and have an understanding of the fundamental creative processes involved. The only way to understand and develop your creative thinking processes, as well as craft your writing skills, is by putting them into practice – as frequently as possible.

 

The course has been developed to create a structured approach to the practical application of basic copywriting skills and to have a “copywriter's” portfolio at the end. You will also enjoy one-on-one guidance from the tutor on a weekly basis to hone your individual skills.

Principles of Art Direction (Portfolio course)

This course is entry level and open to anyone the desire to find out more about advertising art direction. The course provides insights into the role of the art director in the industry as well as the skills involved in developing the craft. The course has a strong emphasis on the practical application of visual communication, from concept to execution, across a range of different media.

 

After the course, the student will be familiar with:
